Thanks. I'm pretty excited to watch this guy grow and color up. He is a little skinny with a bit of a pin head. He loves his food so should fill in fast. Yes I do 40% Wc every other day. I think I got really lucky with this guy because he is healthy, good poop, eats well and active not shy. I want to look for a little friend for him but don't want to add a sick one to his tank.

Yes but there is many variants of Pigeon's not only plain Pigeon Bloods. Along with the fact it could be a mix. But that one looks like a pure PB.

Yes but there is many variants of Pigeon's not only plain Pigeon Bloods. Along with the fact it could be a mix. But that one looks like a pure PB.

Yes there are, but they are all still classified as "pigeons." Mixes will also most likely be classified as pigeons because the pigeon gene is dominant.

managed to get my first discus so also like you ive only got the one at the moment but he is a lovely boy

I went to another lfs today to see what discus they had. I was not happy with the fish I saw there were 6 2-3" discus in a 25 gal tank. Some were skinny and sad looking most had a pointed head and weird shape. Not great color. I watched them they were active but did not seem to get along. They all picked on each other. So it made me think. If disco stue my discus is happy and out going with out any others why take a chance buying another and see them not get along.

Since I don't have much room right now I'm going to just have one discus. He is doing great and is so much better then I ever thought he would be.

He was doing so well I moved him From QT to the 36 gal. He is growing out with my 3 festivums. Who are the perfect tank mates. They act like he has been with them forever. Disco stue also acts like he has lived in this tank forever. After just 4 mins from being added he was out swimming around checking things out. He is very outgoing. He even swims around my hand when it's in the tank. He might be the best looking discus but he has the best personality.

Glad to hear hes doing well. I've actually heard Festivums called "Poor mans Discus" before so maybe they think the discus is one of them . But be sure to figure out when you want to add more because the bigger he gets the bigger your new discus will have to be adding a 2 inch with a 5 inch fish could cause big problems

Yeah disco stue is awesome I understand why people spend so much on these fish. The festivums keep to them self and don't bother the discus at all they just do there own thing. When all my fish get bigger I'm going to have to pick and chose who I keep that will be a sad day. Maybe I could just upgrade the 100 gal to a 180gal haha. But yes my little discus is awesome.

Yeh I got upset getting rid of a blue crayfish haha, parting with my discus though would not be an option. I bought the tank just for them and despite there cost they are truely one of a kind. A true "King of Aquariums" we need out own forum sub-area

Yeah most other forums do have a section for discus and angels. It makes sence. I might have to let my EBJD , true parrot , blue acara and my uaru for sure I'm trying to find them homes now. I will Never let my severums, discus, Or festivum Go. I want to keep my parrot but they can get 13" so we will see. I have some
time.
