Hmmm quick google brings up some Planet Catfish threads - this one looks close? Chrysichthys ornatus ? http/www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/_species.php?species_id=520 Pictures are a bit variable there though? But there are similarities and the barbels look right?

It is in with an Oscar, 2 Sevs, 2 Jade Eyeds and a L001 Plec, so shouldn't be an issue really.

Although now i am considering removing the L001 and adding another 2 of these.

It does say that larger cichlids are ideal tankmates, so it's not all bad.

Suprised at the minimum tank size though being stated as 36"

Surely with a 10" fish minimum tank size would be 60"? I'm nervous about having a potentially 10" plec in a 4 ft tank, and he doesn't even move, just sits there and poops!!

Don't take it out on me because you bought a dud There was one of these at Wharf today, £44... It was very active too!

Also had a sunshine plec that was ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!! £66 though.

It's just a female Bristlenose. She is a decent size though and is for sale with her husband who is about 2/3 her size.

Looks very much like my Chris the Crysichthys Ornatum, took me soooo long to I.D him!

He had the most amazing personality, bit shy and definately crepuscular, morning and evening he would swim loop the loops and hand feed!

Very gentle fish but loved large prawns and cockle, i could see Chris (at about 15-18cm) would quite happily chow down on any tetra/rasbora/small cichlid etc... I kept him with eels, angels, discus, leaf fish and sorubim limia.
