Well, the FIRST thing I did was open the box and make sure he was swimmin'!!! :)

OOPS - sorry. No insult meant!!!! It's just that I often see references to bogwood from posters in the UK, so thought maybe that is what it is called over there.

I like seeing the different expressions you guys have - like "Takes the biscuit" when here in the U.S. we would say, "Takes the cake" and "Car boot sale" is our "Flea market". :good:

Am I forgiven, Netty? PLEASE??????

And just to make up to you, Netty, here are some quick pics I took of Spike and his bowl - not the best, but you get the idea.

Like I said in an earlier post, I will be upgrading him in the near future, but for now he seems happy as can be.

Awwww bless him....he looks so tiny  and yes you're forgiven now that I've seen him :p

He'll be fine in there until you get another tank sorted and the Bogwood looks great :good:

WHEW - LOL!!! I was thinking my invitation to your place was now gone and that made me SAD!!!

He is pretty small - he is just shy of 4 months. Hatch date is Nov. 29, 2008.

One thing I have noticed is that his "spikes" split into two at the very ends. Would that be called double extension?

Yep...that's a double ray.

He looks really good after his journey......has coloured up nicely :good:

Don't think you're getting out of coming over that easy........with all these new fishies we need you even more :p Of course you'd have to bring your boys too so I can drool over them

This is the same seller I got Betta Crocker from. She does a FANTASTIC job of packing them up when shipping.

YUP - I'll just bag the boys up and put 'em in my suitcase. When Customs asks I'll just tell them Netty told me to and I'm SURE they will say, "Well, that's ok, then!"!!!! LOL!!!

   You are totally losing the plot now :fun:

That's great news.....he must like his new nutty Mummy

I love it when they nest straight away........always puts a smile on my face :D Even more so when a baby makes his first one!!!

HA - you're not the FIRST to call me "Nutty"!!!!

Yes, I LOVE it when they make nests. It always makes me feel as though they are happy and healthy so I must be doing SOMETHING right! :)

Hey, a couple days shy of 4 months - he's still a baby.

I think alot of us fall into the Nutty category especially to non fishie friends

At nearly 4 months he is still a baby and he's probably still got some growing to do. He's going to be quite the handsome chap when he's finished growing!!!!

We all ARE nutty - betta nutty!!!

I figured 4 mos. was still a baby - thanks for confirming it.

You and Bronzecat have been SO helpful since I have been here - I sincerely appreciate all the help & suggestions I have gotten from not just the two of you, but everyone else on the forum

Ok, enough of that mushy stuff!!! :)

Of course, one more question - at what age is a betta considered mature?

some of my boys are still growing at 1 year+ it seems like their fins never stop growing.

Thank you Lionmom :)

Well, they are sexually mature from around 3 months. But as for attaining their full body size and fin size/spead, that can take a lot longer. We had a HM Red Dragon which was bought at 3 months, it was only when he was around 7-8 months that he developed into a Feather tail.
