So tomorrow we are going to a betta show auction and I'm afraid the temptation will be too great.
Unfortunately, I'm fresh out of betta tanks. I already have two five gallons that house males, and obviously can't add another one. I do, however, have a planted community fifty five gallon. My only worry here would be the pair of angels I have. It's a very well planted tank, with lots of driftwood. It houses 12 neons, 2 angels, 3 swordtails and 4 polka dot loaches. I know Angels and bettas are a no no, but I'm being hopeful. One Angel is about full grown, however he has a crippled dorsal fin, therefore he doesn't exactly boss anyone around. I've even seen the Rams boss him around, and they are pretty friendly. My other Angel is much smaller. Opinions? The tank is very planted, with more plants being added all the time, and lots of hidey holes in the driftwood. I'm probably just dreaming, but we'll see.

I have 2 angels with my betta, no problemo. However many people on here will throw the book at me for even trying it...

Fresh out of betta tanks? It's a show/auction...you can buy one there! :p

Yeah, I know most people say no too. If things didn't work out, I do have something to house him in temporarily. I just know I'm going to fall in love with something tomorrow!

Hmmm.... Maybe I should say *room!* Being 16 doesn't exactly give me a lot of room, another tank and my parents might just kick me out!

But then i guess most people say no to just a pair of angels...
Oh well it works for me! Might not work for everyone though. You could always try it with one of your current betta? See how it gets along? If there isnt any problems then you have a whole tank for the newbie betta ;)

I wish I could! The auction is tomorrow and I'm away from home, so I won't get the chance too. I'm not sure what my angels are gender wise, so they may not actually be a pair. No aggression in my tank at all, so I'm being hopeful.

I don't know the genders of mine either, i meant pair as in 2 not as in breeding pair, sorry for the confusion. Well if you have a temporary home he could live in if things do get out of hand at least you have the betta in your possession so your parents cant refuse a new tank, 'but look how unhappy he is in this little home' ;) How could they say no to a stunning betta?!

Take some video of the show and the betta there and post it back here for us to see!

I'll be sure to take lots of pictures! Can't wait! I've never been to one before, so I can't wait. :)

It's okay to share the location and time if you want so others who might be near can go.

I have a betta in my 72 gallon with a spawning pair of angels and a school of discus. They get along fine.

The actual show was today, but the auction is tomorrow. I don't know the exact location, but it's in Alvarado Texas at 1 o'clock tomorrow. It's being held by SCUBA. :)

That's good too hear! If I find one I really love I think I'll go for it!

Well, no betta! Was really really disappointed with the show...... There was like ten people there, with maybe 50 "show quality" bettas. Honestly, they looked like anything you could find at Petco or Petsmart. Nothing impressive at all. But, we did stop by a fish store after the show and I snatched a whiptail catfish, something I've been looking for for awhile! So pretty excited about that! :)

Too bad about the show but at least you showed your support.

I suppose. I will say that they had a few neat wild types that I'd never seen before. :)
