Well that looks good, doesn't it, things are moving in the right direction.

I did a fishless cycle on my 2 tanks, 60 and 70 ltrs, a couple of weeks ago and it took 2 and 21/2 weeks respectively for them to cycle; funnily enough, the smaller tank took longer, don't know why. It was certainly worth the wait though for the peace of mind when the fish went in.

I am so impressed by your husband building the tank- what a man to have about the house!

Finally the tank is finished!! :kana: :kana:

Every day he adds 4-5 drops of ammonia and he will keep doing this until two days before adding his fish. This way the tank will stay cycled and no harm will come to the fish he adds.

Thank you all for your interest and a fishless cycle is the way we are going to use always from now on.

I am currently doing a fishless cycle on a 55UK gall tank and am now at the end of week 2 - I think my nitrites are finally dropping :hyper: And that was with some old filter media to help it along. My last tank took 6 weeks.

Best of luck with the tank - it sounds stunning
