As Wolf said, there are many types and telling us which type specifically helps. However, with most killifish, the males will typically be more colorful, or have more vibrant coloration and sharper/more visible patterns. The females tend to be more bland in color, muted colors, faded colors and patterns. Females will also often be a little smaller, though this isn't the best way to tell.

well I am pretty sure it is called a golden killifish

Probaly a Golden Wonder Killi then. The males will be a brighter "yellow", the females will be a bland creamy yellow type color. This page has a picture of both a male and a female so you can see what I mean:
