How to set up a good culture of Grindal worms

Well, this is what I did:

Boiled the coconut fiber until it was soaked and soft, squeezed it damp and placed about an inch of it in a sterilte plastic shoe box, place my starter culture on top after it was cool yet damp, and placed crushed oat meal ontop.

Did I do it right or did I mess up? Can anyone help? I've never had Grindals before.
