I am in the process of cycling my tank and assembling supplies. My tank is a fluval chi and I plan on stocking it with a betta and an african dwarf frog later on next week.I currently own an african dwarf frog in my angelfish tank, but feel he is intimidated by such large creatures.Thats why he's going into the fluval.Although,I know that some male bettas are aggressive and will possible attack in community tanks. How can I have a friendly introduction between the two species?

It really depends on the betta, but one method that works even with some aggressive ones is simple. You need to introduce the ADF into the tank before the betta, that way he doesn't feel like the frog is on his territory.

I was actually wondering if the placement order did matter. Thanks for the relpy!

Isn't the chi an open topped tank? Don't forget that frogs are very good escape artists. One of mine got out of a hole about an inch square.

I had to separate my frogs and betta. The frogs, being almost blind, kept mistaking my betta for food and biting his tail. Then the betta started stalking the frogs. Not to mention finding ways to feed the frogs before the betta ate it all. With hindsight, I would never keep frogs with a betta again.

There is a fluval chi lid on the market if you havent got one already. The first reply is right, you should always add the betta last with anything. Good luck

I purchased the chi with a lid in mind just in case too. When it comes to feeding my ADF I have that covered.I feed him with a turkey baster every other day:)
Thanks for the tips!
