How To Breed Bettas

hi people can you tell me do i have to put my bettas in the breeding tank then start conditiong or do i condition them in my main tank?
thanks in advanced sonofdelboy
thanks for all the replys

Hi, sonofdelboy,
I was just wondering, when you speak of starting to 'condition them in my main tank' or breeding tank, this doesn't mean that you have, or were considering having, male and female Betta Splendens kept together apart from carefully supervised breeding?
I just thought I'd check, as people don't always realize that this is very likely to result in horribly mangled and/or dead fish, possibly even involving both parties.
And even if disaster doesn't instantly occur, the situation, with male and female together, is pretty much a time-bomb with scrambled wiring, in that it can horribly explode any minute.
That's just the way the Betta fish developed, and it's up to us to carefully ensure that the worst never happens.
Have you tried Googling for Betta Talk, as well as searching this site and others?
That's a good site for info on Bettas, and may help you plan.
There's a lot of interesting information out there, and some of it's even accurate.
Lotsa luck and happy researching.

hi there again people my male is flaring at the female in the breeding tank and blowing bubbels the bubbels are popping and i have tine saltgrane bubbels is this suppost to happen and they all seem to be spliting up

Did you condition them before you put them together? and are you keeping the female seperate from the male either with a divider or some sort of chimney until the male builds his nest and they are both ready i.e. the female has breeding bars, the male has the nest and they aren't showing any aggression toward eachother though the divider or chimney.

If the males bubbles wont stick it generally means that he doesn't produce enough saliva to make them stickey. A great way to make bubbles stickier is to add IAL (indian almond leaves) or betta spa to the water.

yes they was both conditined for a week fist they are both been kept a part he flears and blows a few bubbels and then seems to go stupid and stop doing everything and goes and sits behind the filter for about 1 min does this mean he does not want to reproduce

hi when i put my female in she had bold lines but now she hasent why is this?

hi there my male has started making a nest itis not sticking together and there does not seem to be loads of bubbels but there is sum how long does it usually take?

Sonofdelboy how old are you?

Also it's 2 weeks to condition not 1, You really need to do some research on breeding bettas instead of asking every single factor of it on here.

You seem VERY unprepared for what you have already started, It seems that your either very lazy and don't want to do research especially when people have gone out of there way to point you in right direction, Or it's a spur of the moment thing that it might be cool to breed bettas,

It takes alot of time/work/effort/cost and care to do so.

Also what are you going to do with 100+ babies?

heyup leedsboi i have been researching i got told by my local fish place 1 week conditioning i am prepered i have homes for 100+fry u dont go around giving out your age internet safty hint

Sorry but you spell like a 10 year old, Hence why I was asking because someone of a young age probably wouldn't have the time to care for Betta Fry.

As everyone has told you go look on Google for the Betta Breeding guides rather then your LFS as most stores know very little about the proper care & breeding for Betta's.

It's 2 weeks of conditioning by feeding them Live/Frozen Bloodworm twice a day.

Also internet safety is hardly telling someone your age.

alright i am 12 i am not gdd at spelling but thanks for the tips n i will keep on trying if any 1 elese has info plz help me thnx and i am willing to give up all my spare time for them
