How Soon Can You Add New Fish Into A Tank After A Water Change?

Hi,

Water changes have no real bearing on when to add your fish. You could add fish straight away or wait a week. It's irrelevant really.

What is important is to check that your levels of ammonia and nitrite are both 0, and that nitrate is not too high (below 50ppm is fine, below 100ppm is fine too but if over 50ppm i would suggest that you probably need to perform more frequent water changes).

If your levels are correct, and you are not already overstocked, add away!

Cheers :good:

i honestly can see any reason why you should not be able to do it right away, unless perhaps you top off with very cold water. but some may have better advice.

Infact i'd say that's the best time as you're adding fish into the best possible water quality.

Looks like now the problems with the boards are fixed, its the start of members posting in really old threads accidentally. :dunno:

Doh! I only saw Jan 3rd, not the year  ! Never mind. The old threads are bubling to the surface again then.

Me too!

It's too bad. I thought trout_pout, one of our members from long ago, was back. :/
