How often should you feed a bristlenose pleco. I hate having leftover wafers in my tank. He'll nibble on one every so often.

i only feed my plecos directly about once a week....other than that they just eat leftover food off the bottom of my tanks

Yes, once or twice a week is plenty.

And how many wafers, just one?

Ah, that depends on the size of your BN and how hungry it is! For the average, adult sized BN, I'd drop two or three in, once a week and offer some fruit or veg on another day.

Also how long do I leave the wafers in for? Do I remove them the next day or just leave em.

Lovely fish!

I would put two wafers in, last thing at night (or when you switch the tank lights out) and leave it til morning, then you can remove any uneaten; or you can leave them for other fish to pick at.

Thank you, so if I do it twice a week, two wafers after lights out and remove anything left the next day that's fine? I was feeding him everyday but I noticed that would be overfeeding. It's just everytime I wake up wafer is still in the tank uneaten and it bugs me he's not eating much if anything.

:p Am not so much as worrying as it may be a issue with something else within my tank. Am still sorta working through things in it.
