How Often Should I Change The Floss In My External?

anyone any ideas?? i have noticed the water getting a little cloudy, nothing bad.... but its the first time i had an external filter

i used to change mine every month, i just buy the large sheets of poly wool and cut my own out of that. one sheet last about 4 months for £3 (depending on the size of your external).

its 99p a bag at my LFS LOL !! ( thats the floss btw)

I get my floss from Dunelm Mill It's a massive bag, about 60litres for about £4

Jus make sure it has'nt got any fire retardent chemicals sprayed on it, as some do and some dont.

Simon, that's a very good point !!

Luckily I haven't been using any for ages since I moved house! Will check it out tonight when I get home.
