Hi guys, I'm looking at buying a larger tank, maybe Juwel 300 or 400 litre. There's no way at the mmoment I can afford a brand spanking new one, so the question is, ho much would be a good price to pay for either one of these tanks? I've seen a RIO 400 going for as little as £250!

have you shopped about? sodslaw says youl buy the 1st 1 you see then see something better the next day  if you havent already its worth checking out aquarist classifieds

No I havent even started properly looking yet, but you know how it is. You get a bigger fish and you dont want ot get rid of what you alread have. the only solution is a bigger tank :shifty:

Bigger IS better in fish keeping!

There are some great tanks out there and a 3-400 ltr is a lovely size to get. (Especially for Africans :shifty: )

When bargain spotting try to concentrate on the tank and support and don't be too swayed by the offered ancillaries.

I would sooner get a brand new heater and filter so getting one with the tank would only be good enough for a spare to me.

A 2nd hand tank needs to be seen full of water, don't take the owners word that it's leak proof.

eBay is a good place to start....not forgetting http://www.aquarist-classifieds.co.uk/php/tropical_fish.php and these forum of course!

Good luck and if you need advice on a particular tank, just ask :hyper:
