Normally I don't spend that much, as bettas are cheap and easy to care for... but last month I got a new tank, an oscar, a bichir, etc etc...
I'll be spending quite a lot in the near future in order to decorate the new tank and baby my new fishies ;)

well...
I spend about 30 bucks a month on dechlorinator. Water changes, water changes doncha know

And food is a killer....I spend about 45 a week on food,which is about 180 a month :X

as bettas are cheap and easy to care for.

Not when they're coming out of your ears

The only money I spend lately on my tanks is to get more fish, and even then I pinch my pennies.

Way to much, on avg about $75 a month, some months higher and some lower matters on the amount if fry that month, and how many tanks I got running.

50-100 average with just monthly needs, when me and Kel go on a fish binge every 3 months or so it's not uncommon for us to spend anywhere up to 4 or 5 hundred bucks just on new tanks and additions though. The money we have spent on fish and fish related stuff since starting the hobby could have brought us a whole chain of lfs lmao

That's why we have decided to open our own lfs in the next few years and breed alot of our own stock. Healthy, rarer specimens (and all the commoner species as well) for lower prices is our way of thinking. Customers would be happy because they are getting better fish for better prices (some of which are extremely hard, if not impossible to find in any lfs over here - a couple of which I know for a fact that suppliers cannot get hold of, therefore impossible to find), we would be happy because we would be getting alot of business and the satisfaction of knowing we are helping alot of problems in the fish industry these days, pretty much everyone would be a winner, except for the other sub-standard lfs that would be driven out of business (not that they should be in business to start with).
