How Much Did You Pay For Your Test Kit?

ill elaborate: people usually advice not getting water tested from the LFS because of many reasons;
-LFS use strips;- these are not accurate
-Ammonia in the water to be tested (evaporates?) or something.

i was looking at that one... Im tempted to buy one. But im absoulutly Skint. No Money on me What so ever

spent al my money on The new fish tank.

Will try get some money for one. see what i can do.

They use liquid test kits here and its free to use..

I Dont know what they'd say But this LFS is'nt a small one.. This one actluy tells you if your aloud or not.

They're OK i guess. I May try it.

LFS round here either charge to test or will only test free if you then buy a kit. Round here they do use liquid tests though.

The main reason not to use LFS is that they want to make money out of you so they will say 'your water is fine - buy some fish' whereas a test kit of your own wants nothing from you.

Also, how close is your LFS? To cycle a tank you need to test twice a day - morning and night - as a minimum. Can you get there that often and would they appreciate that even if you could?

Well wait until you get the money before u sat up you tank. If you don't have money then there no point in setting up a tank because you won't be able to buy fish to put in it

There is a Point "Getting" It. It just happioned to be a bargin so i took that bargian So i could get more fish later on.

I Might aswel start a fishless cylce and not add any fish until im certian and get the Water test kit to prove it.

You'll need Ammonia, nitrite and a PH kit and they will total approximately £15-18 from ebay.

i wonder why They cost quite alot. i thought certian fish objects where exepnsive. But out of most of the "Most expensive list"

I Dont find it Pointless. Sometimes it takes 8 weeks to cycle a tank properly. And thats ALOT of time for me to get money. So im sure i can wait 2 weeks or so.

Test Kit is probably one of the cheapest items - it will last you all year, maybe longer, so £20 spread over 52 weeks is less than 50p a week... When you think of the cost of electricity, the tank, petrol to the LFS and back on a regular basis, food.... etc etc etc...

But mean as a whole as-in spend the most money in one go on 1 object.

And i would walk to my LFS but my mom insists on driving me there.

I DID find a website once witch tells me how much money i spend on my tank every year
