how many...

how does this sound:

Three-lined cory - 3 female 3 male
Angelfish - 1 female
Siamese fighter - 1 female
Rummy nose or Cardinal tetra - 4 female 4 male
Pentazona barb - 4 female 4 male
Pearl gourami - 1 male

Lake Kutubu/turquoise rainbows get along with barbs wonderfully. I love mine, peaceful fish that become more beautiful with age. I have 4 males. They should be fine with any of your choices, I've kept rainbows, with tetras, gouramis, barbs, angels, clowns, yo-yo- and corys. You would love 'em!

pa2k84, it would be presumptous of me to comment on the compatability of your speculated choices, but it sounds in line with what you've been told, and the poputaion # sounds good (I gave all the fish a 3" average. I believe the angel and gourami will exceede that, but the tetra and barb [?] stay smaller.) Might want to increase your population gradually, so your tank and mates can have time to adjust. It's been recommended to me to use a 2 species, 3 fish guideline when adding and acclimating new fish. I notice whenever I add new fish to a community lots of adjustments take place. Also the bacteria grow to acommodate new fish. There could certainly be more knowledgable and experienced advice though.

I'm also not sure how accurate the gender judgements will be. It seems to be less expensive to buy juvies.

So how about some of you loach cats breeding us a dwarf clown? How cool would that be, a shoal of dwarf clowns? in my 100usg? So

Most of the time they never reach that size.

most of the time they are kept in tanks that are too small and get stunted

DOH! didnt read the whole thread. most people think they are pretty small. when i first saw them i was like "o thats a 3 inch fish" then i thought around 5 inches and was surprised when i found out they got to a foot
