Called a water meter hooked to a water company that sends you the monthly water bill![]()
! Never realised how lucky I am to turn on the tap without it costing me.
I'm in cornwall and on a water meter too; I sometimes use rainwater to make up half my 50% weekly changes (which are around a frightening 300/400l a week...)hmmm im starting to think my 500L a week water changes explains the water bill then![]()
I change about 80 litres a week which is less, about half, than I used to before I got a water meter, Hasn't made any difference to the water readings though so it's a genuine saving of money, and of course water (not that we are short in Cornwall, it rains all the time).

About 1000 litres/week give or take.![]()
Also glad that I am not on a water meter.
I do however offset set the amount of water that my fish use by not bathing, showering or washing my clothes.

I wondered what that whiff was when the wind changed

No, you won't get any parasites. You do often get mosquito larvae if you store the water, but the fish love those and will soon eat them.I'm in cornwall and on a water meter too; I sometimes use rainwater to make up half my 50% weekly changes (which are around a frightening 300/400l a week...)
I do wonder about rainwater but am concerned about parasites.
