Hello guys,

So, the g/f's mom gave us a tank, right. So here I am driving myself crazy using different reference points in order to figure out how many gallons. I finally gave up and decided to log on into the forum. Heh

The demisions are 36L x 17H x 12D in inches. Just trying to find out how many gallons y'all think it is? Not in litres, please, as I am not trying to convert and drive myself further nuts! ;-) Thanks in advance...

Regards,

Ok so I have not come accross a 17" high tank but a 36"x18"x12" equals 24.6 (imperial) gallons. That is not taking off for substrate decorations etc.

Hope this helps :good:

36L x 17H x 12D = 7344 cubic inches, divide by 231 to convert to US gallons
7344/231 = 31.7922 US gallons

Stocking advice
We would recommend keeping up to 23"/58cm of small to medium-sized fish in your system. However, depending on the type of fish, your filtration and your maintenance level you may be able to exceed this to a suggested maximum of 46"/117cm of fish.

However, this requires care and thought for the type of fish being stocked.
