Anywhere from 10-80. I have had one deliver on average 28 fry, then only give one. Then went back to 25 or so. You never can tell until you have tehm release a few times for you. I have had Platies birth 18 - 25, then got a female that is releasing every 21-24 days and giving me over 50 fry each time.

I reaffirm what jh1987 said. Also, it helps to know the fish's age because the number of fish also depends on the level of maturity of the fish. If the fish is really young, it hardly gives any and the same goes for really old ones (average longevity is close to three years) but the mature fish give quite a few. My platy gave birth to 18 or so, but then died, so I'm not sure if she was young or old or her gestation period was sort of off...

they can give birth up to 80 I believe. Make sure if you do have fry you have a lot of plants. Or a fry net.
