Hi,

I have a new (ish) tank. It is established and I have gradually introduced new fish over the last few months, and also lost a couple on the way :( I'm now not sure whether to leave it as it is, or get a few more..

I have the Aqua Nano 55L tank and current fish are: 5 x neon tetras, 3 x male guppies, 2 x Kuhli Loaches and 1 apple snail.

Any advice appreciated :)

We need to know your source water parameters, meaning the GH (general or total hardness), pH and KH (carbonate hardness or Alkalinity) of your tap water. The KH is less important depending upon the other two, so GH and pH especially.

A 55 liter (roughly 15 gallon) tank is quite small, and you have two species now that are shoaling and require a few more. Kuhlis should be five minimum, but before adding them we need to know the parameters, and substrate (sand is better, with lots of hiding places such as chunks of wood). The neons could also use a few more, but again water parameters first.
