How Many Babies Can One Guppy Have

After my two guppies had produced 80 babies (that I know of) and survived one of them died suddenly, no sign of illness etc. The other one lasted a little longer but then after having another batch of fry died again suddenly no signs of illness or anything. Any idea as to why this might be? The male is still alive and is the only adult in the tank but the fry are now getting bigger.

Sometimes if the females are either smaller and have big batches of fry or are older having fry they suffer complications and die within a week of birth. I've lost two this way myself. One was very young and another had an enormous batch.

guppies can have as many as 150 fry.
