Fish Crazy
Last night I noticed a little fly buzzing around (I think it came out of new houseplant next to the tank) and so did Mr Fantastic
he was dashing up and down trying to get at it whenever it came within an inch or so of the tank. Today I noticed that when the cat was rolling around on the floor he did a little flare and a dance at her, like he was joining in (or, less anthromorphically, warning her to keep away!)
I have a friend who has a red vt male and she can't put anything red next to / in the tank at all because he constantly attacks it. He doesn't respond to other colours in the same way.
So I guess they can see quite a way out of the tank into the room, follow movement and distinguish between colours.
Does anyone know what betta eyesight is really like? Do they see the same colour spectrum as us? I'd be interested to know.
