i have a 4ft x 2ft x 2ft

I'm planning on stocking...

2 Severums
2 Angels
11 bentosi Tetras
6 Colombian Tetras
6 Corys
2 Bristlenose Plecs

and i was mulling over maybe a Firemouth, Blue Acara or something similar

what do you think of this stocking? is it to much?

I currently have all of these fish minus the 2nd Severum and currently only have 3 corys.

Sounds ok, but I wouldnt add the second severum or a FM, I dont know what bentosi tetras are, but assuming they dont reach much over 3" and you have good filtration, all should be fine. The only problem, maybe two angels, one will be more dominant or if they are a pair, they may get aggressive when spawning.

What about a Blue Acara?

Bentosi's are like Rosy Tetras, just with a white tip instead of a black :p

I like the sound of the stocking as minx has suggested,

my sister has bentosi tetra's in her tank and they can actually be pretty nippy,i would be inclined to have just colombian tetra's...

I would rather not have the angels and maybe like you said try a blue acara or a festivum..

i had 2 sevs in my 4x2x2 but now i have just 1 and i doubt id add a 2nd again its just not quite big enough once they grow bigger imo. id go with 1 sev and swap the 2 angels for maybe something like a sajica and a firemouth

also if you wanted imo youve got room for more than 6 corys i have around 13 in mine

My mum bought me a largish gold Sev today...so looks liek im goign to try 2 x Sevs.

I liek the Angels and dont really want to get rid of them as they are very pretty.

So my stock now is

Red Spotted Efaciatus
Male Gold Efaciatus
2 x Koi Angels
5 x Platys
11 x Bentosi
6 x Colombians
3 x Corys
2 x Bristlenose

Could i squueze a Blue Acara in to finish my stocking?

Personally I would stick with one Sev in that tank but I can understand the temptation of two see how you feel as they start to get to adult size :). Not sure on the Blue Acara, next main point that I would do is say get more cories next :) liking the mix of the two schools, usually I opt for one big school but those two will compliment two fantastically :) Only other thing I would do is scrap the platies :good: make sure for other fish that would fit better in a SA comm ;)

I love platys tho, cheap, colourful...can't go wrong :p

Yeh i did have 3 Severums in here before, i had 1 Red Spotted Male, 1 Gold Male and 1 Rotkeil female, i also had a forth because i wanted to see what it would turn into...turned out to be a Turq...and it was pretty ugly so i sold it off.

The gold i had grew to about 9" the other 2 were around 7"...all got on great and was quite a bit of space.

I'm only going for 2 this time round tho cos i want to keep other stuff to.

I'm a bit unsure on the Corys...doubt i will keep them, i got them for 70p each from the LFS..one has no eyes and they are a bit dull.

How does this sound?

2 x Sev
2 x Angel
1 x Blue Acara
2 x Bristlenose
20 x Tetras

The tank is filtrated by a Fluval 306 external...i did have a second external but it stopped working for some reason, so i took the media out and squeezed it in to my 306.

Here's some pics of my Sev's

I'm still unsure whether it is a gold Efaciatus cos it looks a lot like my Red Spotted (but my red spot is very dull)

I Want those platy's.

you have a simular Stocking to me

Loving them sSev's

they look GREAT! :good:

Is that suposed to be a bristlenose in one of those last pix? looks like a rubbermouth.

Yeh i bought it as a 'Golden Ancistrus' for 50p a few weeks ago, is it not a Bristlnose plec then?

No womder it doesent interact with my Big Black Bristlenose.

plus this guy is always active during the day, whereas my Bristlnose always sleeps on my wood during the day and is active at night.

Hopefully a Rubbernose is not a massive plec :S

thats not a bristlenose  and where did you get those platysfrom?

i want some with the couler ratio.

Thy looks amazing and just what im after!

Just googled it and found out hes a Bulldog/Rubbernose....ah well, i only bought him cos he was cheap :p

Thanks for pointing that out tho :p

Those platys are from Maidenhead Aquatics, they are quite common, i love them because they are so cheap and they brighten the tank up loads :D

thats why i want them :p we only have the ugle orange ones
