I dumped them in for now as I said because I didn't really have time to layout properly. I want a bit of wood that will stretch out the whole tank which I can put plants and such on. I still have more plants to buy but ill keep posting as i go.

how do people with massively planted tanks hoover up fish poo ? i find it difficult enough with 3 bits of wood, some stones and a few plants.

I was wondering this myself. So you just get as close as you can with a 2" pipe? im guessing you cant get in all the nooks and crannies, but thats ok is it?

Lol I always wondered that too...I always remove my plants so I can trim them.

you don't tend to Hoover planted tanks as the rotting fish poo helps the plants, so there's no point. The plants look as though they're missing something, I'm at work at the moment, I'll have a closer look later, when I'm on my pc rather than my iPhone

I've never used a gravel vac in my life! I keep Rainbows who need good water quality and have never had a problem as I do 40-50% water changes every week. I agree with Ian, the palnts do look a bit like they're missing something. How long have you had them? Do you use ferts at all?

Just an update Been on the phone and got my order sorted for the other stuff. Thanks to KittyKat I'm managing to get around 200 plants and bog wood or around 20" or so for £50. There will be quiet a bit added to the tank soon

I haven't used fertz in the take at all(about 5-6 months) since i put plants in it. I have 75 or so tabs coming and i was thinking of doing DIY CO2 but again not sure how and stuff like that(new to it all). Done some research on DIY CO2 but not 100% sure. BBA?
