Daily water changes of 25% should help, just watch out for secondary infections

Is it just a cut or a scratch. If it is i would just leave it as long as the water's clean it should be alright.

That's a nasty gouge, poor thing! The best thing you can do for him is make sure your water quality is perfect. Then you can also treat with eSHa2000 (easily available on eBay), that should help prevent any secondary infection setting in.

Keeping him seperated is a good idea,too. Other fish will be tempted to nibble. Clean water and good food really, hun!

cories are pretty nails in my experience. i had one with a hole right between its eyes, didnt treat the tank, just kept the water clean, now hes loving it.

most fish will happily heal themselves provided the water is pretty clean. They have quite remarkable regenerative abilities.

thanks all - i put metafix in - i do weekly water changes/change filter - so i just keep an eye on him/her.
