How do people filter their 50-70L planted tanks?

As above. Just curious, really. Do you use sponges? HOBs? Small canister filters?

My office tank is an Oase and I use the Oase corner filter but with the flow turned down as it houses Apisto's. If the filter wasn't available I would probably go for a sponge filter with a usb air pump. (Super quiet.)

I've just put a small external (Aquael Multikani) in my apisto tank. I know people like sponge filters but gunk seemed to be building up in the aquarium with the sponge, and as it is pretty heavily planet, gravel hovering wasn't achieving much. I was just wondering what others do, especially since people sing the praises of sponge filters.

I've bought a HOB AquaClear filter. this filter is the absolute best (HOB) filters that I bought.
