How Close Can I Put Plants And Orniments To The Sucker Bit Of My Exter

so i have a 250L tank but im not sure if i put plants too close to the inlet bit of the external filter that it will suck them in or stop the flow going in. how close can you put them?

I have plants in the area of my intake tubes on both of my filters. I do it for aesthetic reasons more than anything. As long as your plants aren't being sucked onto the intake thus cutting off intake flow and the intake isn't enclosed by a dense jungle of plants you will be fine.

ok, will it clog up if it occasionaly sucks up leaves?

I would just space them so they don't get caught in the flow where it becomes a problem. Just play around with it.

ok then. i could put womens tights around to stop leaves getting in but last time i did that my female bristlenose plec got caught in it. i wont do that again! she was ok though.
