Hospital Tank

Im gonna buy a 10gal hospital tank just to be on the save side when i get a few more fish it includes heater and a little internal filter but i cant put the filter sponges outta of the hospital tanks filter in my main tanks internal as theres no room what so ever so i was wondering if i ever had to set the tank up would it need to be cycled or could i put the fish in and keep a close eye on the water and do small water changes ?

EDIT sorry im dumb i could just put the little filter in my main tank and take it out when needed duhhh lol sorry for the post ppl
