Horrible Lfs!

So I went to my nice LFS and get lighting for my tank, and then I thought i would go to another little fish shop, which isnt that good, but sometimes has something good in, usualy for a cheap price, cause they have no idea what it is.

Anyway, they had a REALLY nice betta in, it was red with a white tail, the best looking fish i h av eever seen, and I don't normally like bettas.

And then the employee walks over to me and says "ohhh, they are cool. Put like 10 in a tank and they all fight and kill each other, its so funny! Wanna see?"

So I told him what I thought.

Told the manager that I would not be coming back, and I will tell my friends not to go their either.

His reply:
"They are only fish"

i hate lfs like that .. fish have feelings just like us . Its like dog fighting. Its not right . Just becuase there 2 inchs long doesnt mean there 'JUST' fish.

ahh you screwed up, you should have said yea sure ill see, then recorded it on a cell phone or something and reported them. they would have been closed down and you will never have to see them again.

I don't know why people have to be like that, its a good job that it was you and not me coz i would have probably knocked him out. It's uncalled for, every thing breathin has feelings even fish jease. What makes it worse is there is nothing we can do to stop it Grrrrrrr

I hate how people put Bettas in a container together to see them fight...it's so mean!!!!!!!!
I know, fish deserve RESPECT not NEGLECT!! It's horrible when people say they're 'just fish'.
They're creatures that deserve just as much respect as a dog, horse, etc.!!!
Ugh I'm really sorry that you had to go through that; I hope they lose business & close, because that's totally un-called for!!!!

I know this is a bit off toic (not to mention how much I disagree with that lfs, fish are living creatures who deserve to be treated like you would treat yourself (well not stuff yourself into a tank))


But the guy I bet has never done it in his life, because I am quite sure he would not show you, because if he believed what he said was true, he would be charged for all of the fish he killed.

And secondly, bettas don't fight to the death, usually only until one gives up. So the guy there REEEEEEALLY did not know what he was talking about.
