hornwort from a pond....

I have a friend who has a LOT of hornwort growing in her pond. She is supposed to bring me some clippings tomorrow. Is it safe to put it in my tank? She has used it in hers before...several times. Is there anything I need to do to it to make it safe???

you could give it a little soak in bettadyn first or any other solution you can think of to kill anything on it w/o killing the plants.
