Went in to check on the Hoplo's this morning, (did the polystyrene thing as suggested last week when I moved them to their own little 'Private Quarters') and the female, who usually resembles a stubby little cuban cigar, now resembles a slim panatella!! The male has been attempting to build bubble nests for the last week, and today was no exception. He is guarding the polystyrene and tending the nest, squeeking a lot as he does it ( polystyrene ). I think there are eggs up there, it seems to have a very slight beige hint to it but I can't really tell. All I can see egg wise is a lonely one stuck to bogwood on the bottom.
As to their identity, they are not Hoplosternum Thoracatum as I first thought but Hoplosternum Pectorale (Because of the red edge to the mails pectoral fins).
I'll keep my eye on the female, he is a bit agressive with her at times, although not overly so. I may remove her if things get a bit heavy!
