Hi all

I was wondering if a honey gourami would be ok in a community tank or do they need to be a pair? I have a 20 gal tank currently with 10 harlequins and 4 platies.

I really want pygmy corydoras, but i don't think my tank would take 5/6 corys

I just got 4 for my comunity tank and so far things are going well :good: I did some research and as I understand they do well in comunity tanks just as long as you dont have any boystrus fish.

I am unsure if you need to keep them in a group or not my LFS reconed a minimum of 3 but I personally rely on what i read on forums like this maybe someone in the know will answer the numbers issue.

I would expect Honey's to be ideal in the usual gourami "1 male, 2 female" grouping, but the Honey's in particular are pretty universally praised here as being unusually calm and friendly in a community tank situation compared to many other gouramis. So a single might really do fine in the tank you are describing. Somebody else might come along with better info but it sounds pretty good to me.
