Hi all,
Could anyone who keeps their tanks slightly brackish please let me know what PH/temp combination works for you?
I was under the impression that fancy guppies do best in a PH of 7.6-8, and like hard water and higher temps. After some mysterious fish deaths (after 2-3 months of keeping my tank at a PH of 8.2 and a temp of about 78) I've found articles pegging ideal PH at anywhere from 6.8 through 8.2. Obviously not all the articles are correct, so I'd like to get an idea of people's success. Since I can't find anything else wrong with the tank, I'm trying to figure out if maybe the PH or temp are suddenly causing problems-or have been causing ongoing stress resulting in early death. Its the only lead I have
.
Also my water is very hard. I've been told its better to leave it as it is rather than try to play with it chemically. Any opinions on this?
Thanks.
