Hi everyone

I was bought a 64L tank for my birthday and I have to say I am completely new to all this, I have done loads of research of what I need to do and I didnt realise there was so much to it.

Anyway, I was just wondering if there were any tips anyone could give me. I havent yet got any fish, I have no idea what fish I should get as I know I have only a small tank and I dont want to overstock. Any advice would be grateful.

Many Thanks

Nic

Welcome Nic!

[x2 for reading the good articles on this site for beginners]. I know that the # of options can get very large, so would recommend a plan like the following:

Research as much as you can on aquarium do's and don'ts.
Look at pics, youtube videos, and fish at local fish stores to identify what fish you like (that will work in a 64L).
Once you've picked a stocking plan, let that drive your other choices for substrate, plants, decor, filtration, etc.

Happy fish-keeping!

Welcome. In the rush to work out what to do and excitement over choosing your fish, please consider what you want the tank to look like. This will help determine the plants which can in turn determine which fish you can and cannot have.
