White Whale
Granola bar gone bad....
It's been a while since I posted here. I like the forum's new look.
Last year I gave my fish to my brother-in-law. They all now live in a 55g. My crowntail dies about 2 months ago. He looked tired and I guess it was his time.
Anyways, six weeks ago I decided to set up the 2.5g tank again near my PC. I chose blue gravel because it would be a huge contrast to the red carpet in my room. two weeks ago, after my tank was cycled, I went to Petland Discounts just to browse. Maybe I'd find that black betta I missed my chance on a couple of years ago. Nothing. And the aquatic area looked like a beginner was taking care of it. Eeecchhh. Wednesday I went to Petco. They had some nice crowntails, but if I were to get one I wanted one in Royal Blue. Or any type for that matter as long as it was Royal Blue. No such lick. They had a nice red crowntail, but the body was lighter but not light enough to be a cambodian. I went to the other section where they kept bettas and found more crowns. Nice multi-colored crowns, but not what I am looking for. Then on the side hiding behind the first row was this pale little guy with reddish fins. Hmmmm... I looked at the shape of his dorsal and got excited. I then looked at the shape of his collapsed tailfin and I knew I had to grab it! His tail was beat up, but I didn't care. I'll nurse him back to health. I had no idea what color he was, only that he was a delta/halfmoon. I set the bag on the tank for about 30 minutes. I then put him in the tank with the lights off. I'll look at him the next day. Poor little pale guy. I hope he likes his new little home. Yesterday I turned on the light and found out he was a color I thought I'd never find - volcano. Brown dark body with red fins. He's actually a copper. He likes to flare at everything - even me. Such audacity. I'll have some pictures this weekend.
