First of all a big hello.

ive kept tropical fish for many years in the past but due to unfortunate circumstances a few years back i had to let them all go to a good home.

well all is better now and ive got a new fluval roma 125 and ive kitted it out with an external fluval 205 pump and heater ect. ive used fine unipac aqua sand for decoration.

what im asking is what do i need to keep a healthy tank of chillids??

Thanks BUB.

I'm not a cihlid expert and it does really depend what cichlids you have as to what kind of water they need and what tank size they need. For example rams, apistos and kribensis would have more than enough room in that tank but malawis would be a real squeeze (and not something I'd recommend) and things like oscars would be a total no no!

The basics for all fishkeeping is in this thread here. Even if you've kept fish before please have a read. Until people come on forums like this there tends to be an awful lot they just don't know, as a lot of it is way above the head of your average aquatics store worker or even friends with fish.

Welcome to TFF!
