Hi everyone!!!
Im new to the forums and new to the hobby and wondered if i could ask a question?
i have a 55L tank and a total of 14 fish (5 neon tetra, 5 guppies,4 danios) but wondering what fish to get next?
should i get a fish that cleans up? something like a few corys? the tank is nearly 3 months old and i change 5L of water ever 2 weeks.

Welcome to the forum Tommy.
With that many fish in a 20 gallon tank, you are almost full. If you can get a few pygmy cories, they make a good bottom cleaning crew for eating excess food. I would increase your water changes. Less than 10% every fortnight is not nearly enough. You might want to change about 15L once a week to help hold down impurities in the tank. A single 4 1/2 gallon water change on a 20 gallon is about what I find works on a 20 gallon like that. If you kept your fish load low, not where you seem to be headed, you could even do that 25% change every 2 weeks and get away with it.

:hi: to TFF! I have to agree with OM47 and waterdrop. It only takes a few more minutes to change more water, and it's loads better for your tank and fish

Isn't a 55 L more like a 15 gallon tank? One quarter less than a 20 gallon? I wouldn't add any more fish. Rather than relying on fish to clean up, possibly do more manual water changes. More fish isn't always the answer.

Yeah, thats 15 US gallons.

With 14 fish in 15 gallons, you're probably already putting a decent bioload stress on the tank.

Just out of curiosity, do you do an occasional water test to make sure ammonia levels are not too high?

Thanks for all your replys, i have started changing 5L a week now.
I have been doing a weekly check on ammonia levels and everything seems ok, but recently one of the guppys has been acting strange (admittedly i have very little knowlege of what strange fish behaviour is) the guppy sits on the bottom in the same spot everytime and dont move much apart from to feed.
