Heres A New Idea..

Cool, what if I have an airstone running, I'm using a RED Seas wood airstone. Create more of a fizz

I have one in my 15gal community tank. Amazingly fun to watch. Never had any problems with him getting along with my mollies or platies. The fish are more of a bother to him when they find his sinking shrimp pellets. They run off with it and he cant do much :( poor guy. But yeah wow theses guys are fun. They love frozen brines shrimp :) takes it right outa my fingers :D

I have 3 in my 20G community tank. I have had them about a month and very entertaining they are too. I have been feeding them bloodworm as advised by the lfs and they seem to be very happy. When I put the food in I try to guide the frogs to it otherwise some of the greedier fish will end up getting it all.

Wow im really tempted to get one, but i'm not sure if it'd go with my current stock (check my sig). Plus I don't want to overcrowd my tank. What would you guys recommend?

I have 2 ADF's in my community tank. They are wonderful things, very characteristic. They have been in there for over 6 months now with no problems at all. You just have to make sure that some food ie. bloodworm reaches the bottom as they feed by scent.

When I first got mine I knew nothing about them but I found this great frog information website. Give it a look before you buy because some LFS's miss label the frogs (suprise, suprise :hey: )and you may end up with the aggressive clawed frog, basically because when they're young its harder to tell the difference. I think the general rule of thumb is make sure it has webbed front feet and don't buy an albino.

Have a look, it also tells you how to tell the difference and has some cute pictures.

Good luck, personnally I would recommend them

yes, you can keep it in a community tank. if you feed your fish live blackworms, itll be easy to feed the frogs. just throw in enough blackworms so alot make it to the bottom.

thats a good idea. they also will eat sinking cat fish pellets (or so i was told)

i personally don't own one YET. but i plan to in the near future.

i have aquestion would you be able to keep more than one in a tank?

like i want to get an albino one and a regular one (would they be ok in the same tank and will they possibly tag team on kiull my other fish?)

it is hard to get them to eat shrimp pellets, mine wont even eat frog bites. you can keep as many as you want in a tank as long as you have the room because they arent aggresive. albino dwarf frogs are very rare so i doubt you will find one. almost all frogs sold as albino dwarf frogs are albino clawed frogs, which you wouldnt want unless you want to replace all your fish with 1 frog

Can they breathe underwater?

no, they have to go to the surface to get air

what does having an airstone have to do with anything? i see that it creates bubbles, but what is your question?

phew good thing i learned that before hand. my lfs (where i used to live) at one point was selling albino african dwarf frogs. but they were a normal price. i didn't know about the webbed feet thing then. good thing i learned this before i got any. now that i think of it, they didn't have webs. they had "claws". hmm damn people not knowing or "mislabeling". and yes i put that in quotes because it is a known fact that most lfs, if they receive the wrong thing they will still try to sell it as they ordered or just simply don't know. you can get a good lfs, but research is your best bet instead of relying on lfs info.

my lfs carries a new stock every-every other week. depends on shipments.
