Do you have a scraper? do large water changes to reduce the nutrients in the water, reduce the amount of light(time and intensity), reduce how much you feed your fish. Is the tank getting direct sun light that can also cause algae along with the other factors. Nerites snails can also help keep it under control.

Algae grows anywhere there is water, light and nutrients. Your tank has these things and no higher plants so algae will grow instead.

If you add some live plants, they would use up the light and nutrients and reduce the algae. Because you have cichlids, floating plants like Water Sprite and Duckweed would be better options.

If you don't want live plants, then reduce the lighting times to a few hours in the evenings.
