Help!

[/b]I know how hard it can be when a fish is very sick/wounded and there is no way of saving it, unfortunately there doesn't seem to be alot of advice on how to put the poor creature out if pain humanely.

I found on http://fish.mongabay.com/disease.htm a very helpful bit of advice which may be interpreted in many ways by all animal lovers. I personally had to kill a Silver Dollar that was attacked beyond all hope and was told by our local aquarium to either: hit it with a heavy object or plunge the fish into ice cold water.

I did the latter believing this to be the kindest (induces shock), it did however, seem to take ages before my pet died.

This is the extract from Mongabay that may (hopefully never) be needed sometime:

Killing a fish

Sometimes killing a fish suffering from an incurable disease is more humane than allowing it to continue suffering. There are several acceptable ways to kill a fish: severing the spinal cord just below the head with a sharp pair of scissors; placing the fish in water and rapidly cooling the container with ice; or overdoing with an anesthetic (Alka–Seltzer®).

what if she lives!!

im sory but i just dont have the gutz to kill my fish :-(
i am seriously going through like depression about it

so seriously should i just do it. and the best and easiest way besides cutting it.

i dont want it to have a painful death if it realy has to be euthanized

well get a bag filled with ice cold water put ice cubes in and the put her in there and put in the freezer.

shes still alive!!!

does that mean i have a hope for her living?

she dosnt have any internal bleeding that i can see. her fin has stoped deteriorating and she looks healthy.

the past day or so she has been showing signs of birth.(black gravid, hiding in plants, squared off) is this anything with septicemia or is she just giving birth?

and now she has green poo.?
