Help With White Spot And Platys

Local fish store.

Lol, brilliant I've found one on ebay along with a magnetic tank cleaner which also does the water change, never knew there was so much involved with a fish tank lol, there are loads of stuff, I'm going to get them all just in case I ever need anything. Yay, all the spots are gone off the fish. As soon as my gravel vaccum comes I'm going to do a water change and add one more med and hopefully it will be gone. How long do you reckon before I can add more fish x

Oh no, just when we thought everything was ok, the orange platy now seems to be attacking and pecking the white one yet they both seem really healthy with no spots, what's going on now, any suggestions. We've separated them temporarily but all we have is a sciv so it can't stay in there. We've also kept the temperature up at 28, do you think that could be stressing them out or something, help x

Just issolate them to see how they go.

We've kept them separated and are going to overnight. The white platy has had a poo in the sciv and its quite clear and white, is that normal x

No.
Constipation, bacterial, to internal parasites.
Probably whey the fish has started picking on it if its ill.
Check the anus of the fish to see if its enlarged, or red and inflamed.

No its anus looks completely normal, nothing seems wrong with it apart from it struggling to swim a little but its never been a good swimmer since we got it x

Ok.
If its struggling to swim it can be swim bladder, try some shelled peas to see if that does anything.

I'm so stupid, I thought it was poo hanging through the hole in the sciv and its part of the sciv wire tut, I feel so daft, well at least its not poo. It looks content in the sciv so hopefully it will get a little better. It seems to swim normal but then doesn't seem to have much strength and gets pushed along with the pump. Thanks so much, your advice has been invaluable chick x

Ok, good luck.

Ok, so we went to the LFS yesterday and the lady there told us to put more fish in the tank, we put some neons in five, the ones with the red stripes down them, not the blue ones. They are fine. We've also added two plants to get some good bacteria in there and more oxygen. The lady said that the orange platy might be pecking at the white one cos the orange one was a female and the white one was a male so she suggested adding another female so we got another one, a blue mickey mouse female. Everything was fine and we put the white one back in the main tank after keeping it separated. I noticed in the sciv there was normal brown poo so that seems ok. The orange one seems to be leaving it alone now thank god but I'm still keeping an eye on it. We also got a test kit and the ph was ok but the nitrite was in danger level so we did a 50% water change yesterday and tested it again and it was light pink but then this morning it was back to bright pink so we rang the lady at the LFS and she said to do a 50% water change, feed the fish and then not feed them for 3 days. Does this sound right to you. Also the white one is still swimming funny, i've read up on all the info on swimbladder but the white one doesn't have any symptoms, it can swim up and down with no problem, it can float in the middle of the tank fine but when it swims fast it looks like its pissed and instead of dartin forward straight its body slight tilts and another thing i've noticed with it is its fins are clamped not like the other two, any advice would be appreciated x

Bad water quality could be making the fish swim oddly.
Had you got rid of the whitespot.
Need to look at your stocking, and tank size.

Hi there chick, yes the white spot had completely gone and we are keeping a look out with adding new fish that it doesn't return. We have a 70litre tank and 8 fish so far, how many should we keep in that size x

Thats fine then.
Did the whitespot knock your stats, if not need to look at what filter you have in the tank.

How often do you maintain the tank.
