Looks like he has ich. Are those little grains that show up in the photo, really there?

If not ich, I'd definitely go for some sort of bacteria. Can you isolate him in a hospital tank?

this is what i have in the tank 2 Clown Loach's 4 glowlight tetre's 3 neon tetre's 1 Black Phantom Tetra 2 Head-n-tail Light Tetra's 2 Silver Shark's and 1 Corydoras paleatus. I know clown loach's are highly susceptible to Ich so do i take him out and treat him or leave him in and treat the tank?

Have you recently added new fish to your tank? If it appears that he's the only one in the tank who's ill, isolate him in a hospital tank. You never want to medicate fish that don't need it and, if your other fish are still healthy, only med him.

I'd test your water params, do a water change, at least 50% and put your dechlorinator in there. I'm unfamiliar with your particular fish, except the tetras. I have a variety of those. Ich is quite often caused by bad water quality so keep an eye on your tank. Do you do regular maintenance, such as water changes?

Here's a good article on Ich, what causes it, how to treat it and how to prevent it. http://www.fishforever.co.uk/ich.html

Hi, i hope your cory will be fine again very soon :# ! Just a thought, if your algae eater is sucking on his head he might keep doing that even after your cory is healthy again. I had one start doing this and i had to separate him so he didn't cause any more damage  . Also, if you have the space in your tank, corys are happiest in groups, maybe you could get a few more?

In your first post you mentioned an algae eater, but you didn't say anything about an algae eater when you listed the fish in your tank. I'd be worried, it's probably a chinese algae eater. You should bring it back to the fish store ASAP (assuming it IS a CAE)

Hi thank's for all your replys my dad cleaned the filter out yesterday and done the water aswell i just googled my algae eater and it is a chinese algae eater and no new fish for a long time i would have got back to you all sooner but been in the garden building a koi pond today

Corydoras are known to be resistent to ich, so they cannot have ich. However what your corydora looks to have is either a fish that was sucking him or a bacterial infection. I would add a bacterial medication as this will prevent anything more from happening if it really is a problem.

i have put him in a hospital tank now and treated him with so liquisil general tonic treatment so we will see in a few day's

hi thank you all again but it was to late for him :( died today at 10.00 pm r.i.p
