I bought myself a fluval 105 yesterday and currently have a interpet pf2. I set it all up last night and I've left both running together but I'm wanting to take out my internal one.

With the ceramic rings I'm going to see if I can get them out of my internal and add them to the external. With the foam parts do I just replace a piece of white foam in my external with the white foam from my internal and in my external the carbon is in a bag where as in.my internal its a black foam (im presuming this is carbon too) above the bag of carbon there's a empty compartment. Can I put it there or do i not need to put the sponges in at all if i add the ceramic rings?

Also if i purchased some polishing pads which part do they go in please? I'm presuming the empty bit above the carbon??

Thought I should ask 1st don't wanna risk hurting my little fishies!

Thanks :)

i have just done the same thing.you dont need carbon in there.its mainly used to remove medication.so just put everything in from your internal into your external and put the polishing pads in last.the more media the better :good:

What do you mean by put the polishing pads in last please? Lol

put your internal filter foams in place of one of the external filter foams - i found the 2 internal pieces fit one piece of external exactly - it sounds like you have a carbon sponge in the internal and a bag of carbon in the external therefore i would leave this out and maybe get a polishing pad which usually goes before the carbon

In the tray with the carbon is another compartment which is above the bag of carbon is that for the polishing sponge?

Thanks
