Help With Community Tank

Hi all. Ive had a re think about my 200l tank ive put the little fish ( tetra,platys) in my 50l tank and just kept my common plec and my pair of bolivian rams in the large tank. The tank is currently up for sale as i want something around 300l but i want to keep some decent sized active fish.

Has anybody got any ideas as to what i coukd keep and what theme i could have in the tank. Ive tried plants but my plec just destroys everything but ive had him 4 years and dont want to get rid.

All help and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

what about larger cichlids?

if you want to keep the common plec happy long term then for your planned upgrade you ought to be thinking about 4x2x2 or bigger really . this then also gives you loads of options for tankmates , with south american cichlids being the most obvious choice

Would the cichlids be ok with the rams

... depends what you got... I imagine slightly more peaceful ones like keyholes might, but doubt an Oscar or similar would - they'd probably eat them. Can the rams not fit in your smaller tank?

Smaller tank is only 50l

Ey agreed, you should really think about getting something along the lines of a 4/2/2, if you can push it id advise getting a 6/2/2, much more space, you can quite easily locate larger fish for a peaceful experience, just takes time and research, for an example things like angels can go quite well with rams, also festivum cichlids,
T bar cichlids, again all of these are ideas and depends on tank size,

4ftx2ftx2ft would be ideal for me and i am quite set on keeping the rams maybe i could look at selling the 50l and getting a 90/100l for the rams abd tetras? And have that planted up and just keep the plec in the main tank

Ok so on re calculating my small tank is 70l and the big one is 250l
