What are your water stats? Red/inflamed gills are a sign of high levels of ammonia!

Size of tank in gallons or litres.
How many fish and which type.
Water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.

Any signs of laboured breathing, gasping, flicking and rubbbing, excess mucas, darting, errtic swimming, swimming in an odd manor.

Anything stuck in the mouth, any red sores in the mouth, any redness to the mouth,
Any fluffy cotton wool on the mouth, strands of cotton on the mouth, or a bleached out mouth, swelling.

that happened to one of my angels before but only happened for about half an hour or so, so i just assumed it had gotten something stuck in its mouth

Yes, but the red gills means something much worse. Usually red gills is from high levels of ammonia, which is not good!

right iv got roma 125 with guppies mollys (10) and 2 silver sharks and 2 angels 1 plec

slight gasping, swimming very slowly likes to stay in one spot, and mouth seems to be slightly see through

no fluffy cotton ect

ammonia 0.0 (Clear)

nitrit 1.6 (Pink)

nitrat 50 (pink)

pH 7.0 - 7.5

I would do at least a 50% water change right now, as nitrite (although below .25 ppm) is a bit high; to be on the safe side of things.

right il crack on with that now ... is this whats wrong with my angel ??

ok no problem well il do the water change now ... any other ideas on what i can do to help my angel ??

Your tanks overstocked.

I would rehome the sharks as the tanks to small for them.

Bad water quality. How long has the tank been set up.

Immediate water change, and increase aeration.

Wilder will be your best bet, she is a walking, talking book of knowledge of ways to deal with fish illnesses.

She should reply back shortly!

EDIT: There she is!

LOL. I wish I was a talking book of knowledge, but i'm not.

I'll put the sharks in my mums tank.. I'm doing the water change now, and the tank has been set up for about a year and half.

Your current filter size could of just been too small to handle all those fish.
