Hi,

I've decided to setup my juwel vision 180 fish tank after being at uni for 5 years and it gathering dust in the garage, however i've got a few questions before i get started.

1. Somehow the entire pump unit has detached from the tank wall, i can see it had some adhesive there for attachment which has been knocked off. How can i reattach this without having a harmful poxy adhesive that would hurt the fish?
2. I remember my light unit was not working (would come on for 2mins then turn off), i presume its had it, so does anyone have a good website to order juwel spares from?

Thanks for any help

Ross

I'm not sure of the size tubing for the light but i am pretty sure they are available on ebay (?).

As for the filtration unit, it maybe best investing in an external or internal filter, it should also give you a bit more space in your tank.

I'm not sure about the adhesives though but good luck with the set up x

Yes, sorry, I too do not have any tips about Juwel spares for the lighting equipment, but I do agree with Beth that the internal filter coming loose from the tank wall gives you an opportunity to reassess your financial situation after Uni and decide whether now you could better afford a good external cannister filter (the competitors for these good units are Fluval, Tetratec, Rena and Eheim, my own prefs being more toward Eheim and Rena) giving you more media volume and leaving more room for fish and plants. (on the other hand, sometimes Uni leaves people exactly the opposite these days  )

Waterdrop you are indeed correct, I don't have money at all  after uni. New filters, pumps and thing are out of the question as the light unit looks to cost over £70... I guess i'll try some aquarium silicone stuff to stick it back on. Thanks anyway

OK, go for it Ross, one of the great things about the standard freshwater hobby is that it can certainly be done as a low-cost hobby relative to many other activities. WD
