first off dump the Crabon, it is used, in the main, only to remove medication from a treated tank. and is said to be, potentially dangerous if not changed on a very regular basis.

apart from the disruption the curtain causes on the surface of your tank, it will do little to "help" your fish. they do, however, look good, and some fish seem to enjoy "playing" in them. so if you like the look. go for it! :good:

Anything disturbing the surface of the water is aerating the water, but there most certainly are more affective ways of doing so. If you don't have a bacteria hosting media in your filter, maybe replace the carbon with that (this would be anything like "Bio stars" or ceramic rings.)

    opps sorry forgot to mention what to replace the carbon with! you could always use another section of sponge.

Dump the carbon. I prefer to use bological and mechanical filtration, i.e. sponges and ceramics. Also, the bubble wall is putting oxygen into your tank by disturbing the surface of the water, which helps your fish breathe and allows for the growth and reproduction of beneficial bacteria in your filter.

would do if the bubbles were big enough, a bubble curtain that is clean and well set up, produces a vale of minute bubbles. these cause little disruption, in comparison to a spray bar or having your outlet above the water level. even an airstone does a better job of adding O2. still look nice though imho
