my nitrate is around 100 mg/l please can you sugest a quick way to get it down 50% water change or some water condtioners which i will have to buy tommorow

EDIT: do we have to wash filter aswell(if i have to water change)

I am just a beginner but my impression is that, for ntirates, 100 ppm isn't REALLY that bad honestly... sure it's a little high but I wouldn't call it WAYYYYYY high or anything. After all, many people have it at 40 ppm coming out of their tap...

What nitrates do you have in your tap? A water change could be a good idea.

You can clean your filter if you think it's dirty and has too much debris trapped in it, but the method that you use to clean it is important. Don't run it under tap water or anything. Just swish it or squeeze it a bit in some of the old tank water from your water change. You don't want to hurt the bacteria on your filter media!

oh is 100ppm the same as 100 mg/l didn't know is it? and how much of a water change

i did a 50% water change took all the plants out and vacumed all of the gravel and i when i did it in some places under the gravel there was this poo dust cloud just poofed into a corner of the tank so its still a little dirty i will do another one day after tommorow a 50% w/c again is that ok

Ok, here is my take on the issue.
How long have you had the tank?

Is it cycled yet?

I would just keep doing water changes and gravel vac once a week.
You need to figure out why the lvls are so high in the first place.
As long as you do water changes and keep testing you should be ok.
Watch how much you do as it will stress you fish.
Also, I would fill up 1 gal. jugs and let them sit out or add some stress coat to it to get rid of the crap that comes in public water.
