greetings my 300ltr juwel comuity tank is haveing big temp fluctuations rangeing from 23-28 degrees C. The weather is unpredictable and i have replaced my heater this is set to 24'c. Any advice on how to stabilise this.
The tank is not near any heat source, wiindow, or obvious area emitting heat or draft. :-(

It would be better to set the temperature to around 27 degrees for the few months of summer that are left. A higher temperature than normal is better than a daily fluctuating one. After my first outbreak of ich last month, I started to keep mine at 27 degrees to kepe it constant. It is now starting to get cold again around here so might drop it back down to 24-25 degrees which is normal for mine.

Temp ajusted, it has been fluctuating for around 2-3 weeks but especialy bad today. So i replaced the heater imidiately withbmy spare.

Aquascaper what do you think is a suitable period of light exposure for a medium planted comunity tank with two T8 light units. Currently have it set for 6 hours.

I'm not too good on lighting times (been out of fishkeeping for several years) but just wondered if yours were contributing to the temp swings due to being powerful/on for long periods. 6 hours with T8's wouldn't be a major factor though I wouldn't think.

Well thanks chaps, i have increased the temp bit by bit and am aiming for a steady 27 in the next few days. Keep you posted.
