Right, Long long day today I got a 4ft tank for a good price locally and went to pick it up this afternoon, However wasnt to the best standard, Tank is sound enough which is all I wanted to house Fry..??
Anyway the lad giving it away had various fish some Cichlids and Plecs, I knew they were part of the deal however agreed more or less via e-mail last night that I didnt want to rehome them as I am not familiar with them and they seemed too big ?? He was gonna get rid of them I know in a less than conventional way possibly local pond ?? and were all placed in a bucket when I arrived

So here they are and I have no idea what they are any further to the above if someone could advise I would very muich appreciate it, they all look under the weather but have perked up tremendously having gone and got an external filter (more ££'s) and good water from exisiting tanks, Stats have been checked and are fine, (monitoring v closley)

All I want to do is give these fish a chance before rehoming them to LFS who would take them off me now, but I want to nurture them back into fine health first ... I cant upload the pics on this part of the forum, they are on the Aquarium and Fish pics bit if anyone could have a look I am desperate to know what they are ???? The Plecs are ok I know wat they are its the others, they have coloured up tremendously this morning and are much brighter than the pics do justice.
Thanks
Becks.

Ok ... well the first fish in your first lot of photos looks like it could be a Pseudotropheus sp. "Crabro Blue and Golden" ... the second fish looks like a Pseudotropheus crabro to me ... and im not sure what the third fish could be from that photo, it isnt a P.Socolofi as they have a black line on their dorsal fin.

Im not sure what the blue/black striped fish in your second lot of photos is either. I dont think its some sort of C.Afra which was my first thought ... you may have to wait for another opinion.

Thanks for that will do some more digging, but i am fairly convinced that they are "kenyi" or maylandia lombardoi / pseudotropheus lombardoi / metriaclima lombardoi ?? they seem to have three different names, they have been "kissing" all afternoon dont knwo what all that is about but apparently they are mouthbrooders ?? Still trying to find out ... :S

LOL ... which one do you think is a kenyi ?? Its "Metriaclima Lombardoi" btw ... the "kissing" is actually fighting to see whos bigger and tougther. Proberbly fighting for territory. And yes they are mouthbrooders. :D
